From TU 4th September 2010

The first time I met Chris we ended up talking for a half-hour, mostly about endurance sports, but about our upbringings and other interests as well. I was always impressed by his dedication to training, both absolutely and vis-a-vis the trappings of fraternity life, but was equally impressed by how humble and kind such an elite athlete could be. Chris's values and gentlemanliness emanated so strongly that just being could be viewed as a form of volunteering for the public good. My deepest condolences, ~ Darryl Kasper, New York, New York
