Dear God, We know that you experienced the loss of a beloved son. We are tempted to cry out, "Why have you forsaken us?" But we know you became human not to ease our pain but to feel our pain for yourself! And my God, we feel it! This is our body, broken, and this I blood, shed! But after death comes resurrection. The light of Christopher's life can continue to burn in our hearts and lives. As his body goes to rest in your body, his passion lives in us, to give us renewed purpose. Just as Jesus told us that whenever two or more are gathered in his name, he is with us, when we come together in Chris's name, he is alive and with us as well, resurrected in a loving community, a family without boundaries. And whenever we love, or laugh, or ride a bike, or swim, or run, we remember and resurrect the love we had with Chris. Whenever we loved as he loved, we bring him closer to our hearts. Amen.
